Mirza Ghalib was born on 27 December 1797 in Agra. He was a well-known poet in the Urdu and Persian languages. He was not popular in India but around the world.

He started writing poetry at the age of 11, he lost all of his seven children in their infancy, as result of a tragic life.

Mirza Ghalib migrated to Delhi where he lived for the rest of life, He struggled financially, he had never a regular job.

Tragedies which are reflected in his work, as his marriage at of 13 years of age, but his seven children survived beyond infancy.

Ghalib was written three forms of poetry, masnavi, ghazal and qasidah. The concept of ghazals changed them from an expression in love of life.

He was awarded the title of “Dabir-ul-Mulk" by Emperor Bahadur Shah Zafar II in 1850.

In his poetry reflects, the idea that life is a struggle which can end when life itself ends.

Ghalib’s view was that similar to a playground, where people are busy in mundane activity but not aiming for a major goal.

Mirza Ghalib’s aim with his writing that, “ I want to write lines that make whoever reads them, happy".

His fame came to him after his death. His Shayari and ghazals were recognized and making him one of the most revered and celebrated poets of the present time.
